Myriad Streetwear

Buy-Sell-Trade streetwear conventions

Following the success from Juulskins.com I knew the easiest way to start a successful business was to tie myself to positively trending markets. Therefore, in late 2016, Myriad Streetwear was born. By late 2016 a fashion brand called Supreme had taken the world by storm. Reinventing how people wear clothes while attracting some of the biggest celebrity names in the process. In my mind, the greatest threat to a fashion brand like supreme was fake merchandise. To counter that, I made Myriad Streetwear (if you are reading this & know what StockX is please keep in mind this was pre-StockX) the first resale company to offer safe, legit purchases.

Myriad hosted events for clients to buy, sell, and trade their streetwear merchandise. I offered seller booths to local businesses & collectors with large inventory as well as GA tickets to customers looking to attend our event. Marketing an in person event can be tricky. It takes the right amount of hustle (75% of sales occurred in-person so you better not be nervous & be slick enough to confirm a sale on the spot), planning (attending events, online and in-person, to identify our target audience), and execution (ensure the event exceeded our customers expectations) to pull off events at scale. The demand to attend events was huge so we needed to make sure we could keep pace. The first event was held in the largest ballroom at the Westin on Michigan Ave. However, for the second event I switched to a warehouse style atmosphere to match the energy of the guests & provide more space for increased traffic. We sold out of all 75 seller booths during pre-order at $90/booth for both events. In addition, the first event sold 350 $9 Buy/Sell/Trade GA tickets & the second event sold 450 $14 Buy/Sell/Trade GA tickets. Myriad taught me so much about facilitating marketing both in-person & online, how to create demand for a business, as well as creating a network of like minded business that can symbiotically support mutual growth aspirations.
